Idle Warship is DESTROYING 130% of the crap that is being fed to us on the radio. I am all about artists who come together for the sake of good music.  Talib Kweli, Graph Nobel and Res are killing me with this futuristic musical journey, the likes of which haven’t been heard from our generation. Bedroom Lites

When I was 17 years old, I became the President of the Teddy Pendergrass All-Star Community Choir in Philly. Every weekend, all 61 of us would rehearse… HARD. When we would take a 30 minute break, many of us would head into the hallway and sing… HARD.

We all really enjoyed music and enjoyed each other’s talents. Some of us were more outgoing than others; I spent most of my time singing my heart out and cracking extremely innapropriate jokes.

One Saturday, I fell in love with a voice. It was smooth, and rich, like melted chocolate.  The funny thing was that the voice was coming from a girl wearing a ballcap, sweatshirt and a pair of jeans.  I could barely see her face, but when she lifted her head, I was was taken aback by how gorgeous she was.  I walked over to her and asked her if she wanted to get something to eat after rehearsals. She said yes, and I’ve loved Res ever since.

Her music is a lot like she is: Beautiful, honest, edgy, extremely unique. Most importantly in a class by itself. If you’re a music lover, I beg you to download this record. You’ll thank me later.

Now I’m gonna see if I can get Res to have one more slice with me.
