GUY RITCHIE will probably want to make “Sherlock Holmes 2″, but he might not get the chance . . . due to HOMOEROTICISM???Â
 

ROBERT DOWNEY JR. was on “Letterman” recently, and he made a crack about the gay subtext in the relationship between Holmes and Watson , who’s played by JUDE LAW in the movie.Â
 

And he asked the audience to decide whether Holmes is, quote, “a very butch homosexual.”Â
 

Well, that angered a woman named Andrea Plunket.  And that matters because she’s one of the executors of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s literary estate.  (–Doyle is the author who created Holmes, if you weren’t aware, Cletus.)Â
 

Plunket controls the U.S. rights to the Holmes character and she can RETRACT those rights if she wants to.Â
 

She says,”I hope this is just an example of Mr. Downey’s black sense of humor.  It would be drastic, but I would withdraw permission for more films to be made if they feel that is a theme they wish to bring out in the future.  I am not hostile to homosexuals, but I am to anyone who is not true to the spirit of the books.”

It’s a good thing this sensitive chick doesn’t own the rights to Iron Man.
